Stone Age is an installation of 16 engraved marble stones. The featured phrases were selected for their high recurrence in Google’s search engine in “prediction” mode.
Here, it’s an ode to the algorithm that suggests the most common online queries. Like an instant snapshot of a searching moment, these phrases, with their infinite variations, take on the appearance of poetic haikus representing our online thoughts and actions.
Resisting the relentless flow of data, Stone Age is a snapshot of the words that run through the search engine, ironically spotlighting Google’s capacity to think and desire in our place. Stone Age, the ex-voto of globalized thought!
